Win a 3 night stay for 2 at Lion Camp – Conservation Society Fundraising Dinner

The South Luangwa Conservation Society (SLCS) is having a fund-raising dinner dance in Lusaka, on Saturday 25th April at the Intercontinental Hotel.

The dinner dance promises to be great event, whilst also helping to generate much needed funding required for SLCS’s 2009 budget.

There will be a 3 course dinner, live music by the Zambian musician Maureen Lilanda, a wildlife art exhibition and auction, plus a raffle. Of which one of the prizes is a 3 night stay for 2, at Lion Camp.

Tickets cost US$70 / ZMK 350,000 and there are still tickets available.

SLCS is a non-profit community based organisation, committed to the conservation of the local wildlife and natural resources of the National Park and surrounding Game Management Areas.

The following are some of the projects they carry out:

• Education of local children to appreciate their heritage and work towards sustainable wildlife utilisation and a balanced coexistence

• Upliftment of local communities by alternative income generating projects such as chilli farming

• Promoting the South Luangwa Anti-Snaring Campaign in local villages and schools

• Habitat and wildlife data collection through monitoring by village scouts

• Sponsoring and co-ordinating village scout training programs

• Anti poaching patrols and snare removal programs
