People of Lion Camp : Sam's Bike Trip from Cairo

Many of our guests ask us what we do when Lion Camp is closed during the ‘off’ season (Nov-May). The answers vary from cultivating land which is what many of our local employees do, to visiting family and friends, travelling, or remaining onsite to carry out and supervise maintenance work.

This year Sam decided to use his well-earned break to get back on his bike for another ‘trip of a lifetime’. He left Cairo in mid January, and has cycled through Sudan on his way to Addis Ababa in Ethiopia.

He is now nearing the end of this 2460km solo trip, and we are all looking forward to his safe return. I’m sure stories of this latest expedition will feature around the campfire this coming season.
